Abhishek tweets, Suggest names for my daughter

Mumbai, Nov 20 (IANS) Actor Abhishek Bachchan, who recently became the father of a baby girl, has thanked his fans for their good wishes and is now asking them to suggest names for his newborn.

"And suggestions for names are very welcome guys. Something with "A"," the 35-year-old posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.

His wife, Aishwarya Rai, gave birth to their first child Nov 16 at Mumbai's Seven Hills Hospital and since then, the Bachchan family is receiving congratulatory messages from around the globe.

"To receive all this love from all of you. Oh ya! And our crew grows past 800,000. A huge welcome to all the new ones...And the congratulatory messages still pour in. Thank you so much guys. All of you are wonderful and so sweet. My daughter is so blessed," he further posted.

While Abhishek is enjoying his fatherhood, megastar Amitabh is in seventh heaven after becoming a grandfather for the third time and says it is difficult for him to stay away from his granddaughter.

"Difficult to tear yourself away from the 'little one', but now home to replay videos and stills and wait for her to come home...Shooting 3D camera stills and movie of the 'little one'... Amazing! Child is the Father of man... Never had this at my birth," the 69-year-old posted.

"Many morphed pictures of the 'little one' with her mother in hospital doing the rounds on the net... all fake!!" -- Amitabh posted on his Twitter page.

"To be my daughter in her mother's arms. Full points for creativity to the people who made them. Spent the morning with the girls and showing them some rather entertaining photos morphed by some very talented people of who is supposed..." Abhishek wrote with sarcasm.

Aishwarya gave birth to her first child Wednesday morning at a private hospital in Mumbai. Abhishek announced the news through the micro-blogging site.

The electronic media gave only limited footage to the news of Ash's delivery, following a reported 10-point directive from the Broadcast Editor's Association (BEA) warning news channels against excessive coverage on TV of her childbirth.

Thanking the media, the Bachchan senior tweeted: "And once again a word of kindness to the electronic media for their non interference and dignified distance... thank you!!

"A word of appreciation too, to the print media for highlighting a few salient points... our joy in welcoming the girl child... and emphasising the commendable desire of Aishwarya in having a normal delivery without any epidural or pain killers. The often coined phrase 'too posh to push' was put to rest in her case... she was determined to do it the way she felt was correct!" he added.

The 69-year-old third-time grandfather is already receiving suggestion for the baby's name, though Abhishek has chosen to nickname her 'Beti B'.

"More time spent with the 'little one'... each and every movement sinking deep into our memory cells... to narrate to them when older! Thank you all for sending in suggestions for names for the baby... some of them really good... will run it by the parents!" he wrote.

Kissing episode: Cases against Shilpa Shetty shifted to Mumbai

New Delhi, Nov 21 (IANS) Three cases filed in 2007 in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh against Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty for publicly kissing Hollywood star and AIDS awareness campaigner Richard Gere were Monday transferred by the Supreme Court to a Mumbai court.

An apex court bench of Justice A.K. Ganguly and Justice J.S. Khehar transferred the cases to the court of a Mumbai metropolitan magistrate after Shetty's lawyer Anand Grover pleaded for the transfer of cases.

He cited the actress' "busy work schedule" as a reason for seeking the transfer of cases from Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh to Mumbai.

The Mumbai court will now decide if a prima facie case of obscenity was made out against Shetty or in the absence of a prima facie case against the actress whether the case against her should be quashed.

The cases are linked to the 2007 visit of Gere to Delhi in connection with his AIDS Awarness campaign. During one function for drivers at the Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar here April 24, 2007, Gere hugged and kissed Shetty.

Three cases - two in Rajasthan and one in Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh - were filed against Shetty and Gere on charges of obscenity.

The apex court March 14, 2008 stayed all proceedings against Gere pending in various courts observing that he was free to come to India as and when he liked.

The court while staying the arrest warrant against Gere said: "This is nothing but publicity-hunting…. By filing such cases and getting such orders, you are getting a bad name for the country."

A Jaipur magistrate who had issued the arrest warrants against Gere and Shetty was later transferred

Shahid shoots ad with Priyanka

Mumbai, Nov 21 (IANS) Shahid Kapoor, who is here after his Spanish vacation, is trying to complete his ad shoots before he finalises new film projects. In one of the commercials, he has teamed up with Priyanka Chopra.

He shot two ads Wednesday in Madh Island on two adjacent sets - one for a paint brand and the other for a coffee brand, the latter with Priyanka which required them to splash water on one another in a garden.

We asked Shahid about his double-ad shoot and he said: "It was just another working day. What's there to say?"

Shahid and Priyanka are also shooting for Kunal Kohli's untitled film together and while shooting the ad both the actors tried to keep as much cordiality as possible. But apparently the duo simply refused to give joint bytes to the waiting television journalists who had gathered at the venue of the ad-shoot.

This refusal was most surprising in the light of the fact that media-persons had been invited to cover the shooting as a Shahid-Priyanka event.

Interestingly, director Ayaan Mukerjee, close friend of Shahid's, was also present at the venue to shoot another ad with Shahid.

"Shahid wouldn't budge from his no-joint-bytes stance, and Priyanka agreed with him. They both felt that at this point in their working relationship, the last thing they needed was televised togetherness," said a source.

In response to their tweeets, Riteish and Genelia, who started seeing each other during the making of their Bollywood debut, "Tujhe Meri Kasam" in 2003, posted thank you messages.

The couple, who always remain tight-lipped about their relationship, recently admitted that they will seal their eight-year-old relationship with a wedding in 2012.

Indo-Canadian porn star to spice up 'Bigg Boss 5'

New Delhi, Nov 17 (IANS) If it was Pamela Anderson who raised the mercury levels in reality show "Bigg Boss 4", this season Indo-Canadian porn star Sunny Leone is set to add fuel to the controversial show by making an entry Saturday.

"Sunny is coming down especially for the show and will enter (Bigg Boss's house) on November 20," a source from the channel Colors confirmed to IANS.

The 30-year-old, whose real name is Karen Malhotra, will land in Mumbai Thursday night.

Born to a Punjabi family in Ontario, Leone has appeared in various reality shows in the US, and was named among the world's top 12 porn stars by fashion magazine Maxim in 2010.

Leone was also approached by acclaimed Bollywood director Mohit Suri for his film "Kalyug", a film about the growing pornography industry. However, the role was ultimately essayed by model Deepal Shaw.

For the ongoing, fifth season of "Bigg Boss", there was buzz that international pop star Shakira or boxer Mike Tyson might join the show. But with news of Leone's entry, the speculations seem to have been put to rest.

Whether the adult star will be a long-term participant or a guest is still not sure.

"We can't confirm whether she will stay for long or just for two-three days. All we can say is she is coming to participate in 'Bigg Boss'," the source added.

When Pamela came to the show last year, it made for a jaw dropping moment for many. But it will be interesting to see how the mixed gag bag of the aggressive and argumentative celebs like Akashdeep Saigal, Amar Upadhyay, Siddharth Bharadwaj, Pooja Missra, Shraddha Sharma and Mahek Chahal in "Bigg Boss" will react to a porn star's entry in the show.
